Notifications provide important, contextual information that may or may not not require the user to take action.

Design System Guidelines

Catastrophic Error

A hard stop typically associated with a system error. Users cannot go forward and the error cannot be dismissed.

User Error

A soft stop typically associated with a user error. Users must take an action before proceeding, and the error cannot be dismissed.

Informational Alert

Information alerts that display important information for the page. Can be dismissed/collapsed and then reopened.

Success Alert

Indicates the task has been completed successfully. Can be dismissed/collapsed and then reopened.

Numeric Badges

Highlight the amount of items needing attention such as items in your cart, unread messages or errors awaiting action.

Label Badges

Identify content types or notify users about important features.

Announcements

An announcement promotes Dell programs, features or tools, but is not used for merchandising or system notifications.
